Guidelines To Students For Terminal Examinations

  1. After the freeze bell all revision should come to an end and all should keep their books outside their respective examination room, collect their writing board, pen etc and then come to assembly for prayer
  2. After assembly move to your respective examination halls. Wait for the supervising teacher to call you in. Without the teacher no one should enter the room.
  3. Follow the bells for the examination
  4. When you get the question paper you will not be allowed to write but read it for 15 minutes. The bell will be rung when to start the exam
  5. Attend carefully to any general instruction that may be given at the head of the question paper. Do not waste paper by skipping some lines
  6. Write your name, roll number, subject and dates on the right hand of your first sheet.
  7. Get the signature of your teacher on every sheet of your answer sheet. If there is no signature, it will not be corrected.
  8. Remember that handwriting and spelling will be taken into account. No use of calculators, hand or desk calculating machines is permitted.
  9. As soon as warning bell is given, arrange your answer booklet in order, the first page at the top. See that they have your name, roll number written on them. Fasten them together at the left- hand corner and hand them over to the invigilating teacher.
  10. At the last bell all must put down their pens and no writing is permitted.
  11. Do not borrow any items from your neighbour. Your must arm yourself with all that you require e.g. extra pens, pencil, eraser ,scale, etc.
  12. All working including the rough work, should be done on the same sheets as the rest of the answer. No separate paper will be given.
  13. Do not take out used or unused paper out of the exam room.
  14. Use of unfair means : Students found guilty of
    1) Bringing in answer sheets and detected copying.
    2) Taking out or attempting to take out answer sheets.
    3) Disturbing others or any disorderly conduct will be penalized
  15. A pupil who uses unfair means during Tests/ Examinations will be given zero in that subject and debarred from writing the remaining examinations. Repetition of unfair means will make the pupil liable for dismissal.

General Rules Of The School

Enrolment in St. Xavier's School implies on the part of the pupil and the parents willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.

  1. All are expected to reach the school at least 10 minutes before the time fixed for the morning school Assembly and join in the singing and prayers. Late comers should get the clearance from the office before entering the class-room after which they will go to their respective class rooms.
    Students who reach the school after the bell will not be granted attendance and if this continues for 3 days he/she may be asked to return home. In the school campus all have to converse only in English.
  2. All must wear ID Card in the school premises
  3. Every student should come to school in neat school uniform.
  4. Students should not ride their cycles in the school or Catholic Ashram campus. Cycles must be kept locked in the cycle-shed.
  5. No student is allowed to leave the school campus at any time during, school hours without the permission of Principal / Vice Principal. Students will not be sent home with any one other than the parents/ guardians.
    A gate pass will be issued from the office without which the watchman on duty will not allow the child to leave the campus.

All Students Are Expected To

  1. Show respect to all the teachers & staff members.
  2. Avoid shouting, whistling or running about the school building.
  3. Avoid throwing papers, chalks, stones etc. anywhere in or around the school premises except in the dust bins provided for the purpose.
  4. Observe all the rules of good conduct on the various buses and on the streets while coming to or returning from school.
  5. Strict silence is to be observed at the freeze bell in the morning, after the recesses and in the passages.
  6. To be admitted to the class room, those who come late must show the class teacher their Regularity Record duly signed by the Principal or Sister-in-charge Moderator of Discipline.
  7. Students should always keep their copy books and text books clear and well covered with brown paper and properly labeled with their names, classes and subjects.
  8. Books, other than the prescribed curriculum or other printed matters, should not be brought to the school.
  9. No subscription can be raised without the permission of the Principal. No gifts to the members of the staff be made without the explicit permission of the Principal/Sister-in-charge.
  10. Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. The school does not take the responsibility of the lost goods.
  11. Principal/Sister-in-charge has the right to suspend or dismiss any student whose presence in the school is injurious to the moral tone of the school.
  12. Repeaters have to pay the tuition fees for the month of April and Annual fees for the enrollment on the day fixed before the re-opening of the school.
  13. Students are directed to take their report cards and return them in time. Defaulters will be fined Rs. 10/- per day.
  14. No collection for any purpose what so ever by staff/students may be taken without the prior permission of the Principal/Sister-in-charge.
  15. Care must be taken of the school property, students must not scratch or spoil the furniture, write on the wall or in any way damage what is provided for their use. Any kind of damage done to the school property will lead to dismissal and the damages should be paid by the students.
  16. No one is allowed to put on mehendi, lipstick or nail polish and attend school.
  17. Mobile phones, cameras, any costly gadgets will be confiscated if found with any student in the school.
  18. No books, periodicals or magazines or any printed material or pictures of an objectionable nature should be brought to the school. All books for private reading must be submitted to the class teacher for approval. It is the school authorities who will decide on the objectionable nature of reading material.
  19. No one is allowed to bring to school any sharp objects like knife, scissors, blades, crackers or any object harmful to the fellow students. Any defaulter will be suspended from school.
  20. No student is allowed to wear finger rings.
  21. No student is allowed to use physical force to strike any student in or outside school campus or use any abusive language derogatory to ones character. Any offender of this rule will be suspended or dismissed from the school.
  22. No student without any exception from Std I to X will be allowed to wear a wrist watch in the school.
